So My xbox hasn't been turned on for a couple of days, and when i turned it on..
I heard a loud humming noise like really loud.
I ejected the disk drive the sound went.. then i took the game out and put it back in the disk drive.
When the xbox was reading the disc the sound would appear again
    What's the problem anyone know?

    It's the new slim xbox

Only when reading disc? The most likely of the cases, could just be the DVD drive vibrating against something. That's the most typical cause in phats. I know the slim has a rubber band like stand on the back, and foam on the tray, but it could be just vibration.

I have the same issue I just install my games and then it vibrates for about 15 seconds upon booting and then nothing as it stops spinning.

I've installed all my games, so it's nothing to worry about if it makes the sound?

The vibrating causes no sort of performance issues. Though if you want to fix it you will have to take that beast apart (that's fun.... xD). Then make sure the DVD drive is seated right. Someone may have dropped it and didn't say anything and the DVD drive isn't seated on the platform just right. So, strip her down and seat the DVD drive again. Then with the case still off, boot a disc up. Just to make sure it isn't vibrating anymore. ;)
