As of October 8, 2012, Favela from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been disabled for online use. Favela was removed due to a complaint from the Islamic Gaming Community, they complained that the two pictures in the bathroom on Favela are hurtful to their religion. On the frame of the pictures their is a saying, it says Muhammad is beautiful. You are probably wondering how is this hurtful? Well in the Islamic religion, it is disrespectful to put religious items in the bathroom. I do understand why they complained, but why remove the map? Infinity Ward could've just removed the two pictures in the bathroom and put them in the living area, right outside the bathroom. Sorry man, I looked in the MW2 forum and couldn't find it, it wasn't in the home page, like I thought it would be so I decided to just post it to let people know.
You do realize the Hindu one was a satire right? Even moving the pictures would require a Title Update, so they removed the map for the time being. It's still pretty stupid to me. It's a 3 year old game. Move on.
Wow I love how people from other country's complain about stuff like this and we just bend to what ever they want yet if it was us complaining about something in a game from their country I am pretty sure that they would have no problem leaving it in their game just for spite!!! This is just like the people that want to build a mosque near the 911 site or want to take down the piece of the world trade center because it some how offends them?
Yeah I know, I thought it was hilarious though so I decided to put it in the description of the video and add it to the post to get people to have at least one good laugh about what happened. I'm not complaining, I'm just simply sharing the news as people will be sad that they will not be able to play on Favela, as Favela is one of my favorite maps to play on too. I understand why the Muslims complained and I respect that, I have no issue with other religion beliefs.
Oh I know your not I just get upset when I see crap like this like quite a few years ago one of the superman movies got changed because the line from the movie that goes does he still stand for truth justice and the america way? got changed to does he still stand for truth justice and all that stuff???? I mean like come on we change so much stuff around just because someone out there has something to say about it? I agree to many good times and bad on favela and this is honestly the first that I am hearing of this issue and do not see the problem with it...............
I'm not sure if you are from America but I am and the problem is, America likes to meddle in global affairs too much and other countries invest into America, which leaves Americans hopeless. For example if you are American think about this, what is the real benefit of being an American? Are we just babysitters? All other countries have pride to their nation but our government doesn't believe in a religion, we do not have a national language. I'm flammin. :lazors:
I do happen to be american yes and while a lot of Americans would not agree with you I how ever do I feel we would all be better off if we just left other country's the hell alone and focused on our problems in house first.
