Well after enjoying haveing my jtag online I decided to get a xkey so I can play games on live. I saw a couple members have or sold xkeys before. The install seems very simple, I already have my OFW ready to go. I am putting it in a stock slim, on beta dash, with stock fw drive. What type hdd is best to use? Self or external powered? Iso do they need to be patched? Any general tips or tricks will be very helpful. I get mine in 2 days....
if you are going to use the remote get one that has it's own power source because there isn't always enough power to run the usb and the xk3y and the remote. mine would show up sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't. have one with it's own power now and always works. yes you would still need to run your iso's through abgx before playing them. also make sure you games go into folders or they won't show up.
I ordered the remote also, but now i see there is a dvd menu option that doesn't require it. Thanks for the info Caboose
i never run them through abgx,probably should but been online for about 8 months. I have noticed that mine and some of the xkeys drain a lot of power,sometimes your xbox doesnt turn off properly Usally a direct connect from the back instad of the remote will fix it
you can use it without the remote and it will work just fine except for multi-disk games. you need the remote to switch disks in-game. yeah that did happen to me too. it would take a minute to turn off properly. the usb with it's own power source doesn't do this anymore.
I got 1 more day left until it comes in now. The wifi adapter looks real spiffy, would be cool to control my xkey with my iphone.
