Ok so i got my slim xbox flashed a few months back by some dude who charges to do this. My question is, am i able to flash to the latest firmware without having to go back to him. Reason i ask is i don't have the backup of my original firmware or dvd key( not sure if i can recover the dvd key from my current LT 2.0+ firmware or if i need my original dummy.bin file ). Basically i don't wanna have to rely on going to somebody else everytime there is an update. Yes i'm new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated as i don't wanna stuff up my xbox or waste my time dissasembling it. I've seen numorous tutorial's but all of them basically show you how to flash an xbox that has never been flashed before, so i just wanna be extra sure before attempting anything.
If you want to update the the latest F/W then you are going to need your dvd key, contact the person who flashed your xbox for you and see if he can send it to you mate
Yeah i'll try contacting him but i doubt he'll give it to me because he'd rather make money off me by charging me to update it like he did before :| . Is there no way to recover it another way if he refuses to give it to me.
if you have the equipment to flash the drive u should be able to recover the key in jungle flasher the newer drives are slightly different older drives so be absoulutly sure before going ahead with it .when u have the drive connected to your pc and in jungleflasher the is a option to extract key.bin for the drive once you have this you should have no problems it should say save drive key hope u get it sorted my friend
