I'm considering picking up a capture card in the near future and was wondering what every one on here was using. I'm not looking for the best quality just a nice quality.
Hauppauge HD PVR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8oZ1FVa7E8 It works from it's own hardware, if you have a great PC you can use a Black Magic.
They both run about $200 us. That's a bit out of my price range but the quality is phenomenal. Ever herd of a dazzle?
I did have a Dazzle but it was a lot of work. Still looks OK after rendering with Sony Vegas, the PAL (UK) console needs a program on your PC to record in color and you can't play the Xbox in HD whilst recording! ...not 100% sure about the NTSC (USA) version. This was a joke vide for my friend but you see what the Dazzle looks like there.
It's definitely not as nice as the others but the price is more in my range and it still looks good. Thanks for the info and the samples.
If you want quality for a little higher price either a HD PVR or a Black Magic Intensity Pro a dazzle is ok for someone starting out but it takes a lot of editing to make it look semi decent but I would definently say get the hd pvr by happauge if you can
Agrees hd pvr, you can puck them up for around £80 its just shipping costs really. Or if you got money to burn defo black magic Sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk
i use a hd pvr its very good. live streaming with it is a nightmare, i also have a dazzle i cant go back to that after the hd pvr
I also use a hd-pvr, i did have a kaiser bass series 8 game recorder but the quality was horrendus, definately worth the money for the hd pvr if you have it, i wish i didnt waste the money on the kaiser bass and just got the hd pvr to begin with.
The HDR does look great it's just out of my budget right now. I will probably just wait a bit till I can afford it to get that one since you all speak so highly of it. I appreciate all the input.
