    Hey guys.
I'm a new member of the community, still getting the hang of it.

    Here comes the question:
I play on Xbox Live with a FW modded console (lt+3.0), i follow all the rules of the scene to be stealth (only play games after release, test and correct all games before burning through abgx, only play xgd3 games burned from burnermax, etc).

The question is, how stealth is the saves here?
I know there is 2 kinds of saves: the modded ones and the ones that people played through and uploaded here.

By my knowledge the modded ones aren't so stealth. Am I right?

    And what about the Achievements?
I mean, take for example a game with 3 achievements (complete level1, complete level2, finish 100% the game), my original save/profile dont have any achievement.
Then I download and rehash/resign the save to my profile, a save that is 100% complete.
Will I get the achievements? If yes, would I get then in the correct order?
Would it be too risky for Live? since MS bans for achievement modding.

    Thanks in advance guys.

There's no simple answer here. When you use other peoples saves, I can not say it will be stealth or not. Therefore you should be very careful on how to use them. Best is to use them offline, and always check on a dummy account if the save is for real or not. Then you should be checking the progress of the save: when you start to play a game and have little achievements, the chances are big when you use a save for 100% completion that the cheevos will pop, and probably out of order. Always try to find saves that are build as a set, and in regular order, then you have the best chance of letting them pop correctly.

Also, and that is not mentioned earlier on sites: try to delete the saves before you go online. MS can check the saves on your console too. And if they find saves with different time stamps then you are in trouble.

Hope I helped you out a little buddy!

    Thanks mate.
You helped a lot, +rep'ed and thanked you.

    Another question:
you said I should test on a dummy account.
If I get flagged for using modded/other people gamesaves, will it be flagged in the profile or in the console?

Because if it's in the console then a dummy account wouldn't 'protect' me from the flag, if it's profile flags then it's fine.

You said 'let them pop correctly', that gave me the idea of looking into someone's profile to see the order (for those that have order).
Is there any way? Maybe the site x360achievements or searching for someone on Xbox live?

Thanks for saying about the Time Stamp, I didn't knew that. I didn't even imagined to delete them before going online.

A tip: Would be great to have a thread explaining those things for the newcomers, saying about the flags, how to be stealth, etc. And looks like you have the knowledge on it :bye:

    thanks again mate.

well gamesaves are great thing.. but games themselves are to be enjoyed first. The main rule is not to be stupid or greedy. Obviously online cheevos are for online only so dont unlock them offline. LnP are great but MOST of them pop out of order, so be careful with that. If you are online, dont go popping achievements one after another. Although it wont get you banned form xbl, it does look mysterious and ppl. can check your timestamps (if popped online). The best course of action is to play the game and get as much as you can, then use saves to clean up what you can't or unable to get. Also, a knowledge of how the achievements should be popped and in what order is neccessary.

Hey buddy, here I am again with the remaining answers...

To use the gamesaves on a dummy account, that account should be offline. And after testing, delete those saves too. That account is only to make sure for your main account to check if there are no other cheevos that pop. Just to be save.

Yes, always check on other peoples profiles who have the game completed what the right order is. Check on 2 account to see of they have both the right order. The site you mentioned is fine, you can check profiles there who have completed the game you want to complete with saves.

I do not have all the knowledge, but I am a completionist and am very carefull with my main account. I always check thing to be 99% sure.

Another thing is that others wrote down on your question: try to get the online cheevos legit. Those are the ones you can not mod offline, those will raise the alarm bells for sure. If you go an mod those point with programs like Fluffie or Horizon, you could make your own online timestamps, but those cheevos will not be registered on the servers by MS. So big chance you might get reset for that.

In all I am saying, that if you want to be on the path of gamesaving, be as carefull as you can get!

Good idea to get a thread going on this subject and help other people out. Will thing about it when I get back from my hollidays next week!

    Happy cheevo popping buddy!

PS Ineeded, try not to be greedy and pop thousands of points within a day, that will be a no go. MS knows in general how long it does for a certain game to get the points. Try to make it look legit, even if you are using saves...

Interesting topic. I've never used gamesaves before but Dead Space 2's Hardcore Mode is so frustrating that I began to rethink my position^^. I already found a save near the end of the game and since I unlocked all other achievements in the game legit this shouldn't be too risky, right? So all I have to do is adjust the profile id, device id and console id of the downloaded save?
Does it make a difference if I play online/offline since it's in singleplayer mode anyway?

As our friends stated above, it's best to use them offline even though is singleplayer mode. Now you ask why, the reason/answer is because of the timestamps, the saves and achievements hold a timestamp and online will be easier to MS check that.
Recommended: Use them offline, after doing/playing delete the gamesaves, then go online.

Awesome mate, thanks a lot for the answers. Thanks to Mikey123 too.
    Will +rep you guys.

You explained in a very good way, I understood.

Another question rose from the ground (where did I get that from? Rose from the ground. lol):
Is it possible to edit timestamps?
I mean the gamesave timestamps not the timestamps on my profile (since I don't want to mod/mess with my profile in any way).

Hey buddy, a quick answer with my mobile phone on holliday! :)
You can not edit the timestamp within the save, its the date and time from when the save was made, even if you play along, the first original info stays on the save. Therefore, always use m offline and delete when done. You can only manipulate timestamps if you edit achievements with fluffie or horizon. But with that you have more risk being flagged by ms.

    Cheers man!

    Thanks for the answer mate.
I`ll be careful while using gamesaves.
thanks again, you really explained very well about it.

thanks for the input mate, but I prefer not to risk so much.

    another question:
what is wrong with the modded gamesaves?

I mean, I know the legit saves are safer, but why?
is the pop order or something more? is any other thing?

Can I use modded saves (not legits) and not get flagged if I pop them correctly (the correct order).

    thanks in advance mates

Thanks for the tips because, I was just about to play some RDR online otherwise I would have been asking for a reset or ban. Same thing with Max payne 3 will be deleting those saves for sure.

    Good lookin' out.

Well, to answer the new questions:

There's nothing wrong with modded gamesaves. Those saves are manupulated to have perfect health, a lot of money or GOD mode for example. The only thing you need to check with such saves is if it wont pop any achievements when you use it. example: when you start a game with a modded save, and you are like level 50 from the beginning, the cheevos might pop if there are connected to leveling. So you will get caught cause you can only get those achievements when you played the game for 100 hours or so legit. So, try to investigate such saves to see if you can use em without worrying about popping cheevos out of order...

Legit order saves are saves witch are set up for each single achievement. So if a game has 35 achievements, there will be a saveset with 35 different saves with instructions for each one how to get that single achievement. Again, always check on a dummy account if it is the real deal...

I you had a look on the explanation of all of the above, you will most likely be under the radar of MS, so they can not find out if you used saves or not.

Just try to pop a little a day, otherwise it might get suspicious.

    Hopefully this helps!

Yep, thats the best thing to do when you are finished, delete them! Especially when theres a new update comming for the dashboard. You never know what new actions MS took to find out if people are cheating...

    Thanks guys.

+rep'ed and thanked you for the answers.

    Great explanation Hoofdletters .
Now I have a better idea how the gamesaves and flags for it works.

For those who don't want to read everything:
Basically: Use them only offline, use first on a dummy account (to see what pops), pop on the right order and don't go online with the saves on your HD since they have a timestamp attached.

I never got in trouble for any kind of saves even though there is a risk. I never heard there was time stamps on game saves only achievements.

Thanks for the input mate, most people won't get in trouble because of GameSaves.

But I prefer not to risk it, to stay on the safe side. :king:

Think i might add that you should never upload a modded save to the Cloud Storage!
